Hi there.

1st:

I was wondering where i can buy carbon arches?
I have a picture on my HD with a Mini thats got carbon arches.

Please help me ! I just love the look !

2nd:

Can i use anything else, than the HIF44 carb, building af turbo engine? I though something like a R5 GTT carburettor or a Volvo turbo carburettor?

Does anyone have experience with other carburettors?

/ Thomas from Denmark ( I just shut up about the game 4-1 :) )

Hi the carbon arches I think you are on about are curley miglia arches. I think you can get them from curley direct or if not they are from minispeed,

I think the address if www.minispeed.co.uk

they are around 130 gbp if you want the weave showing.

Hello Thomas

I am sure it is perfectly possible to use the carburation you mention, with some time spent on fabricating a manifold, and then some more time spent trying to set it up. Anything is possible, but is it worth the effort?

However it has to be said that the HIF 44 turbo SU is VERY hard to beat for our application, first of all for easiness of bolting it straight on, but also for parts availability and straightforward tuning ease.

There are plenty of guys over here running 200+ bhp using the SU carb.

Mine gets in the way a bit, but only when it is up. If it is down it does not cause a problem.

Thank you Sam for the link :)

Allright, but i have tried several times to get at used one shipped to Denmark, but no one wants to send it to me :( Maybe cuz its to much to ask.

But i have some experience with the R5 GTT carb, and its hard to find one in good condition.

So, i think i have to invest the 200 £ in a HIF44.

I pm you later iain.
