hello just finished the build up of the engine and am now currently in the process of putting it into the car, i was just wondering if anyone had a similar spec motor and could tell me what horspower id be looking at, and maybe what sort of 0-60 time. the spec of the car is:

1293 med block, omega forged pistons, turbo rods debeaked full blown turbo head, lighten flywheel, 1-1 timken straight cut drop gears, mini spares turbo cam, sc box, t3 turbo running 8-10 psi boost, bailey dump valve, 3.44 final drive, using 13" wheels.

and also iv got t2 turbo and wondering if anyone has carried out the conversion and is it worthwhile

any ideas? chears

8-10 psi isn't a lot...

15.0-15.5 sec 1/4 (at best), and a 0-60 0f 7-9 seconds depending how you drive!

T2 any day of the week. Been done lots of times. Enter T2 into the SEARCH button at the top, and start reading...

fit a good intercooler is a must*wink*

IMHO! go for the 2.95 diff or 2.7 if its for road use depending on the the CR a touch more boost can be had say 14psi easy if the clutch is up to it

Turbo Dave is the T2 guru well "IS the guru!" so take note*wink*

Once you've run a T2 you'll never go back to a T3.

If you already have a T2 then fit it you won't regret it.

dave i ran 10psi at avon park, i got a 14.4 but only at 92mph terminal - which indicates my low power.

I think the T25 went a long way towards these figures...

There you go - 10psi and a 14.4.

I gues your 60ft time was up around 2.3 seconds - this is clearly where you got that time from!

pretty much the same spec as mine minus the forged omega's, on 13" wheels and a 3.44 with 10psi.... mines D11 in the database

Can you mount the t2 in the same way as the T3 or do you need to use the mirage manifold?

I think jimster on here makes/sells t2 adapter plates so you can fit the t2 in the same manor as the t3, not nearly as much money as mirage manifolds, although you still have to do the modifications to the bulkhead

is there any difference power wise between locating it behind the engine or using the mirage manifold?

i dont think the mirage manifold flows better or anything, its purpose was to be able to fit a turbo without have to cut and weld the bulkhead (i think anyway, could be wrong)
Some people are happy to pay that amount of money to not have to modify the bodyshell :)

the mirage setup is still mounted behind the engine, i think you might be getting it confused with a janspeed setup dude.
