I've seen a couple of metro turbos running without a plenum, the boost pipe goes stright into the carb. Its only a bit of metal. If it blows it blows!

The idea of having a plenum is so that when you are of throttle and then go back on, there is still a gulp of air there for the engine to use. I expect that you can run a boost pipe straight onto the carb, but it may be at the sacrifice of throttle response! Thats wot i was taught at College but if anyone has any other ideas? |

thought the plenum was there to make sure that there was even distrebution of pressure, if you had a pipe going into the carb you would most likely have a bend and the speed at which the air was going in would be different, the air on the outside would be going faster then the air on the inside, would give uneven fuel mix "Can I legally marry people now that I am ordained in the Church of the SubGenius?" aka i know jack sh"t

What about removing the restrictor ring, or would that make it run shite? Its only a bit of metal. If it blows it blows!
