£20 per hour plus fuel and welding materials, if you cut it out and prep it.............

I take it you have somewhere indoors with power to do it?

£10 worth of diesel at a guess, £15 ish (?) for welding gas and wire, its probably an hours job roughly to physically do the welding if you get it all properly prepped and fitted up etc before I get there, longer if it needs more fettling before its ready to weld. So the more prep you get done the less time it will take me.
As a guide, you want to cut it out neatly so the box fits CLOSELY (emphasis on CLOSELY) into the hole, and so the edges of the box butt up firmly to the surrounding metal. Then you need to grind the area where I will weld back to bright shiny steel for 1/2" or so. I would recommend an electric reciprocating saw or a jigsaw with a metal blade in to cut it out, as they make a neat job of it. Or maybe a nibbler? Angle grinders will work OK but not as neat as methods above.
Not bothered about being warm, just don't want to get piss wet through, as long as its dry and there is power that is good enough.

Dan ill cut your bulkhead for you, and im buying a welder soon when i find a good deal on one so you can either let tom use it at your house, or we can have a go outselves first it wasnt that hard for mine! and i dont think we did bad first attempt with a gas welder with no gas lol *tongue*

Kris didnt charge me for coming round and welding mine in £45 is quite alot, but if you can use my welder then saves you giving £15 to tom for materials and saves him having to bring his welder...

No offence intended or taken, but if you want me to come and weld it, it will be using my Snap-on machine as I am used to it.
