im thinking of buying a mini turbo off a chap who lives near my mate up north. he says the engine starts first time but there is a fuelling problem and it would need to be trailered away to the nearest rolling road which is about 30 miles away. does this sound dodgy and is a serious problem or could it be some thing minor? couldnt a mobile mechanic sort something like this out atleast to allow me to drive the thing home? thanks in advance

Where is the car based?

Sounds like it could be a number of things that could easily be sorted out by someone who knows what they are doing, I would imagine most mobile mechanics would struggle as they won't know the intricasies of the metro turbo fuelling system as well as some of us do.

Hard to tell from your brief description, best bet is to get someone that knows what they are doing to look at / sort it before you buy.

Yorkshire is a bloody big place, got any more specific info? There are plenty of guys on here around the place who may look at it for you.

Does seem along way to got o buy a dud.
Although it could be something simple like the original fuel filter in the tank has been left on, this will cause the car to slutter over a certain speed (when the boost comes in and the fuel pressure rises) but will be fine below (without boost) and start OK! could also be rust in the tank?
