I have had a hell of a day. Am so pissed off but will share it with you guys, at least you may find amusement in my turmoil.

This weekend have a mission round the country collecting parts, my tractor (306 derv) has needed new rear beam mounts for some time, but this week they have just got noticeably worse.
So coming home this morning 6am off nights shift, decide I will get up 2pm and replace them.

All is going OK, old mounts off, they're fucked. New ones in bags, marked LH and RH on bags, so fit RH mount, bit awkward but otherwise OK, go and fit LH mount (add a bit of pissing rain here) to discover they have manufactured it wrong and so the bolts to go through the body (pair) are 90 degrees orientated wrong.
Phone factors, they don't have one but can get me one from Sheffield, and will drop it round in van. New mount arrives, looks OK, fit to car, go to raise beam up to bolt in, bolts are 45mm out from the centres, after a bit of messing about find that one is wrong as well! Start to refit originals back to car so I can at least use it while I sort the right ones out. I am in foul mood anyway by now, get the gf out to lower the jacks either side down slowly while I try to line bolts up with holes, she not being used to the jack drops it all way down in one fell swoop, I am left holding the beam off my chest. Shout at her, so now shes pissed off with me, get out from under car, looking for some tool or other, look in boot, its not there, slam tailgate in a fucking strop, rear windscreen smashes........then also the rear catch gets glass in it, jams, the tailgate won't open, then that is fucking bust as well. BAD TO FUCKING WORSE

To add insult, I have to be at work at 8pm for another night shift, my plan was to get up Saturday morning 11am and set off round the country, thats not going to fucking happen now is it........

AAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH

So tomorrow I need to- refit original mounts, and try and either get glass replaced, or buy a s/h tailgate.

RAC Windscreens coming in the morning to replace rear window. You don't want to know how many £££.... :(

I went about 50 miles away last night in the dark and rain,To pick a trailer up..........Plugged it in 200yards later,no headlights on the van.hmmmm drive for about a mile on sidelights, stop at garage fuses ok,so get a bit of wire out and wire them straight to the battery

Found out when I got home the dash light ign/oil/alt etc not working either.change the fuse for them and alls ok again.
Think headlights only work with ign on,so if ign fuse is gone the lights dont work

it must be to do with them rear beam mounts, when i was torquing up the 4th mount on mine it sheared... rubbish!!!

those 12 hour nights dont help tom

I have calmed down now, slamming the bootlid and the glass smashing kind of took the fire out of my anger as I stood there in disbelief looking at it.

thats unlucky. we all bin there before. i remember gettin stressed with a clio alternator, hittin it with a hammer and the lil bugger falllin on my shoulder lol. couldnt move 4 about 3 days lol.

I like the way that when you lose your temper, and knock the fu*& out of something with a hammer, it never works properly afterwards.
So now that's two things you have to fix.

Use genuine parts, they may cost a few quid more (not if you in vaux trade club, most parts are dirt 69p for an oil filter???!!!)

If I get ina rage I either stop and have a smoke, or just load up my rifle and shoot some innocent wildife near my workshop. You wouldn't believe how much stress than can take away.

It was fixed saturday morning, since then it has been from rotherham, to coventry, to birmingham, to uckfield, back to birmingham, to ilkeston, and back to rotherham. I've kind of forgiven it now.

Even with trade discount the mounts are £62 each from Peugeot, or £21 each from my factor. No contest there is there really.....
