If you were taking a tuned turbo to have some work done, and want to be really sure the garage dont take it out for a thrashing, but they may have to start it to move it

What do you do ??

Remove the plenium ??

what work you having done? i was wondering this myself but if you stop them by taking something off then they might do a worse job cos you dont trust them unless you make an excuse, i'd just take it to someone i trust if they are close enough.

Yep but if taking the plenium off works, you could say that you was having it modded for a dump valve whilst your doing the work on it

I'd have thought that disconnecting the actuator rod would be sufficient! Vehicle will drive just fine, but not very powerful!

OR, stick a restrictor plate in the turbo intake pipe. 1" or so should limit performance somewhat!!!

I pick holes in everything..

Chief ancient post excavator

Norway

A Prezza guy in Norway experienced this, but he had a GPS fitted and a logger. He could see how far he'd driven, how fast etc. The mechanic was a 18year old twat who took it to 180kmh in a 60kmh. The police found the info VERY interesting. He got to keep his job though.

Buy this and fit... Don't tell anyone..

Or just remove some essential part that won;t allow it to run....distributor for e.g.

Tell the garage that you need to send it away to have the advance curve altered, and so are going to do it whilst they have it to do the work.

Any garage worth its salt will be content enough to push it round the workshop for a bit.

When i had the gearbox replaced on my **** i took it with a tenners worth of fuel and got it back with the reserve light on.

Ive seen the modified chips for newer cars on ecu's that have a mechanic mode so it goes slow *tongue*

How about you just run the tank right down to almost empty then drop it off.

I guess you could just remove the actuator in whole - or replace with a stock metro one aswell - with 0.0000000000000000000000000001mm of pre-load just to be sure...

Near Daventry, midlands

i dont like the idea of giving it to them with no fuel in, they may decide to give it a burn up anyway and ending up running out of fuel at high boost

Removing the actuator lever seems the best idea to me.

I've seen the future and tbh its Pie

I hate garages for that.

In the past, i have sat and waited for the work to be completed to be sure. Ok for an MOT, but not practical if its in for a few hours. :(
