Recently bought a used EN 40B crakshaft, how do I determine if it's an A or an A+ crank?
If it's A crank does it fit to a A+ setup, or do I need to change dropgears and clutch?

cheers
Henke

I am really not certain on this one.

I _think_ that the A+ primary gear will fit an A series crank and vice versa, but I'm not sure. The clutch and flywheel are definately interchangable.

Vegard is the knowledgeable chap on A stuff on here, he may be able to tell you the answer 100%.

A and A+ cranks are interchangable.

No A+ crankshafts were ever EN40B. The only difference between a A crank and an A+ crank is the fillet radii (spell?)

If it's aftermarket it could be anything.

Anyway, ALL 1275 cranks fit in all 1275 blocks with the correct thrust bearings. All 1275 primary gears fit all 1275 cranks.

The choice of drop gears depends on which gearbox you're using.

Arr, but if its an S-crank it'll have smaller big ends wunit.

Its only a bit of metal. If it blows it blows!

Yes, but it'll fit either block.

Mitsi Evo 7, 911, Cossie. & all the chavs ...... won no problem

Only the cooper S cranks most of them EN40-B

had 1"x 5/8 big ends

the none S cranks sported 1"x 3/4 on the big ends as the meterial spec was dropped.

you may have An S crank?

if so you will require S rods
