first of ,thanks Tom , th e disk removed some stuff but not the really disruptive ones, NOW one of my biggest probs i have is with this site, .the home page comes up fairly quickly ,but when i "say" click general chat , it says "waiting for turbo minis, bla bla". then "Done" but nothing has happened it can prove almost impossible to brouse this site sometimes ,all is well on other sites, also from my favorite list i will have to click on a name maybe 4/5 times before it finds it .
i had adaware prevoiusly installed .this found lots of crap but could not remove them , i would "select all" the "next" , the quarantining b ar ,loading bar thingy would flash up and go to full loaded ,and just stay at that stage for ever, thus not removing owt.,i thought it was corrupted so removed it and reloaded it [i think] but still ther same.

HELP. ps ,once i leave this site tonight it may be tomorrow before it allows me to gain access to the topics.

Carl, there are some other utilities on the disk I sent you that may get rid of some more.

Try first of all Norton One Button Checkup, then run Norton WinDoctor, all found within the menu of the Norton disk.

If that doesn't improve then there are some programs on the other disk that may well do the business. You have my number give me a call if you like?

for spyware use Search and Destroy, and then SpySweeper, then use JV16 regcleaner v1.2, then grab Tune-Up and let it optimise the system, then grab Diskeeper9 and let it sort your MFT and pagefile, then let it do a full defrag.

btw, diskeeper9 wont work on 98 so scrap that. Whats the spec of the machine?

no not updated to 98 , but when it went in to be fucked up more last year they said they updated it ,
or did Jim do it ,i don't know ,
as it happens i kind of got adaware to work so things are lookin up .
