THis may be a complete KNOB HEAD of a question ...but

I want to get hold of a Mk1 Mini ; as that is the one I have always wanted ( will get rid of my PickUp or Van for the right on )

ANd I want to know if the Mk1 MagicWand gear stick set up will mate directly onto the later type gearbox rod selector ?

I am clueless here as I have never even seen underneath a Mk1

The proper majic wand stick goes through a different place in the bulkhead to the box, and the transmission tunnel is different to the later remote box shells. So in short no.

hmmmm
It sounds a bit confusing !!
What do most people do with a mk1 shell then ; use a later box and make some mounts for the later type gear stcik & Mechanism ?
Is this straight forward a task ?
