pc normally connected to net 24/7.

comes up with a blue page with the above on it and something to do with dumping files,restart pc and its ok for a while

Im on xp pro any ideas*frown*

still working, pita restarting once a day had a look on www.registryfix.com which found about 400 faults,just wonderd if it's worth paying the $$ for the code to fix them

i've seen this before on a few machines and its usually a sign of corrupt data or a corrupt sector on your drive. Most of the time it can resolved by getting windows to do a sector repair by....

Right click on the C drive, select properties, select the tools tab, then click Check Now button. Tick BOTH boxes and hit start. Now leave it as it can take quite a while.

Re-installing windows doesnt always cure it either as it can in worse case scenario's be a sign of the hard drive is failing.

you need to find out if its a hdd problem, if it is you could end up doing a lot of work to solve the problem only to have more sectors fail a few weeks later.

trust me, been there done that got the t-shit and lost 3 years worth of data/pics/favs/etc

I've seen the future and tbh its Pie

I done the full check this morning took about 2 hours(20gb h/d),seams ok at the mo.does make a creaking/clicking noise occasionally.Ive been meaning to get a 300 gb h/d for a while so best get one before pc goes bang again.

The h/d at the moment is 7 years old so I suppose it's worn out
