I m ust have run the battery down abot 5 times when my Mini was still on the road due to leaving the lights on accidentaly. Has anyone had any expirience fitting a lights on warning? Can on by taken from a modern car and adapted? |

I think the Subaru system is the most sensible.

Yeah thats the other way I had though of doing it... so wire the dipped and main beams throught the ignition. and the sidelights through a separate switch? |

They sell a little box in halfords,either that or wire a buzzer from maplins between live on the lights and earth on the door pin switch

or just leave a note on the steering wheel reminding you to check the lights before you get out of the car |

next time your in a scrapyard, borrow a warning buzzer from a renault, (anyone car will do, but renaults hide them under the dash, passeger side.) tap into the sidelight feed, wire to buzzer, (theres about three pins iirc, just guess it, you cant damage it!!!) then another wire to the door switch. takes about ten minutes! And on the 7th day........... God created turbochargers! |

ive done it before the way dangerous describes but it also buzzed when a passenger gets out! |
