I m ust have run the battery down abot 5 times when my Mini was still on the road due to leaving the lights on accidentaly. Has anyone had any expirience fitting a lights on warning? Can on by taken from a modern car and adapted?

I think the Subaru system is the most sensible.

The lights are switched throiugh the ignition so there is no way you can leave them on.

If for any reason you did want to drain you battery for a few hours, there is a seperate switch to turn the sidelights only on with the ignition off..

Not very sunny swanage

next time your in a scrapyard, borrow a warning buzzer from a renault, (anyone car will do, but renaults hide them under the dash, passeger side.) tap into the sidelight feed, wire to buzzer, (theres about three pins iirc, just guess it, you cant damage it!!!) then another wire to the door switch. takes about ten minutes!

And on the 7th day........... God created turbochargers!

Oh well, if you are Nic you'd probably like that, means no ladies can escape at night without you knowing!

Instead of a lights on buzzer, it could be a "passenger escaping in the dark" alert......
