What is a maximum safe level of boost on a standard turbo cylinder head?

If in Doubt, go flat out !!!

if you use a good standard turbo head along with 25cc pistons, it'll probably happily run 30+ psi.

A vague answer to a vague question i'm afraid.

well, the metro was 7psi using 98ron fuel.

If you use the best fuel you can find, have it set up on a RR, you might well find that with a just enough ignition retard, 10psi will just about do.

Proven 200+bhp & Avon Park 05,06,07 Class D 3rd place

Yes hoggy is the best to ask on this one as he is running a standard head on his 1380 so it's even higher c/r.

Best 1/4 mile 13.2 seconds @116 mph

Resident Cylinder Head Modifier

Mitsi Evo 7, 911, Cossie. & all the chavs ...... won no problem

if you are running std pistons with std head i suggest you remove the beak out of the combustion chamber

this together with an intercooler will give you a margin of saftey

remember the intercooler is not the icing on the cake its MORE cake as one top turbo expert quoted

yes i ran 10 psi on 9.8 cr with a intercooler with a fixed advance set at 24 deg.

with no det problems at all although my rr guy was using det cans just to make sure.

the car loved the tescos 99 ron fuel as well so all helped and did make for a nice drive.

but how much safty margain i had well i will never no but it should be posible to run say 11psi with the same set up as you with my above mods as long as its set up well on a rolling road as you only have 9.4 cr but you are sailing pretty close to the wind so be carefull

always looking for them bigger bunches of bannanas
