I have just spent the morning in the gaage stripping down my engine i bought on thursday. I was quite amazed at what i saw once the head was off. there is no bore wear at all. there is a lot of carbon build up tho to the head and pistons. I bought it of a mate of work who said he bought it of a friend who his frind gave it to him years ago ( if that makes sense) so there is no real history of the engine. There are a few puzzling things i have found.

valves look to be 29.5 x 35.5
there is no "T" stamped in the head
and ther are doulble valve springs

Are any of these standard? How can i tell if it is a genuine turbo engine?

Thankyou all in advance

If in Doubt, go flat out !!!

Turbo engine didn't neccesarilly have 't' on the head. Standard turbo valves are 29/33
Double valve springs 'are' turbo.

To check the head a little more;
The exhaust valve stems should be of a 'noticably' larger diameter than the inlet stems.
