South Yorkshire

After a long wait I've finally got my Mk 1 shell. Good starting point for a new project, but I'm undecided whether it will be a track car or a road car, and whether it will be blue or grey.

Pleased with it though, always wanted a Mk 1 :)

nice mate, personally i wouldnt want to abuse a mk1 on a track, also almond green with a snowberry white roof looks nice...i had a mk2 in that colour or island blue with a white roof *wink*

just athought but you would probably know this anyway....a preventative measure...the mk1 shells have an overlap from the floor to the bulkhead, unfortunately they have the overlap so the floor bit goes over the bulkhead (ie water can run inside the car from the engine bay !) if or when you pull the engine out, prior to any paint run seam sealer along this overlap and your foot wells will last a whole bunch longer..... they changed this on the mk2 (its another way apart from the rear lights to tell if you have a mk1 or mk2 sheel when you are buying *wink* )

just a thought for you mate :)

Thanks for the comments

Carl - no rush for the wheels. Let me know as soon as you've done with them or need them out of the way

Myfirstturbo - I thought that was a problem with the sills. I didn't know it was the same on the toeboard. Thanks for the tip.

I like the green, but my estate is green and I fancied a change. I also like that mushroom colour. Decisions, decisions... :)

This just apply for 59 cars, possibly early 60 cars. Later Mk1s were the same as any other "new" Mini.

Mine gets in the way a bit, but only when it is up. If it is down it does not cause a problem.
