Just wondered how you guys get around the carb being 6mm and the reg being 8mm?

at the moment i've got 8mm braided lines running between the 2 but i know that clamping the 8mm down to 6mm isn't ideal. Is there any way i can get the pipes taken out of the carb and some 8mm connectors fitted instead?

I got round this by putting a filter with 7mm tails between the reg and the carb.

Therefore the 7mm pipe from the filter stretches enough to go on the regulator, and 6mm pipe stretches enough to go from the carb and fit on the filter.

It would be great to find somewhere that could produce moulded pipes to fit properly in this area though. I had never thought about putting 8mm tails on the carb, this could be well worth investigating.

6mm fuel injection hose.
Immerse in boiling water for a few minutes.
Whilst doing that, get a 'heel bar' and hold it in your vise, taper upwards. Grease the taper.

Bring hose out of boiling water, and ram, slide, push, twist, etc onto the taper. Let cool. Slide off taper, immerse in boilling water again.
Ram, slide, push, twist, etc onto taper, then pull off taper and simply 'pop' it onto the regulator pipes (yes, it really does just pop on there).

You should really be using EFI hose here - which is usually harder to 'work' than lower grade stuff; hence why I adopted the above technique.

Easy*wink*
