i bought some non genuine ones from mini spares - the quality was awful, i dont recomend them at all.

I'm not even sure if you can still get genuine ones now though?

Mine gets in the way a bit, but only when it is up. If it is down it does not cause a problem.

I have just got some QH ball joints and even without any shims the joint was loose?? with the pin in the cup and full tilt you could see daylight on the edge when held up to the light..

I do very little mileage in my car and yet I have changed the joints twice in about 4000 miles.

The first set were lapped in, and yet the wear rate is very bad. I'm OCD when it comes to greasing them, and I only use good quality grease. We have had a few fail at the my local club recently, what do people do,just keep an eye on them and change them when they get bad or is there a secret stash of god ones? P.s I only use 10x4.5 wheels too the lads with 13" eat them?

So what's the consensus? I know I' getting sick of crap quality parts? a mate had a set of heavy duty tie bars that snapped, when we looked at them they were a metal case filled with slag.. The KAD quick shift I got for my remote box the bolts were too log and I had to pack them with washers, RANt over. But keen to know what people use.

Thanks
Graham

I hate ball joints! !! I use the QH ones from my local motor factors. I think I am about the only person who buys them and I think they are new old stock looking at the packaging. I am in there later this week. If it is a case that there is a heap of old ones sitting on a shelf I will buy them up and make them available on here. You know you are getting old the first time you say..."they dont make stuff like the used to"

i just west to autorite and asked for some, he had a pair for a tenner. he's an honest bloke so i asked if they were any good. his reply was he's never had any problems and fits a lot of them. that was good enough for me.

there fitted to the car but not used, there was no 'make' on the package

I find the easiest way is to super glue the bolt to the end of one of my fingers.

I am changing my n/s joints as a precaution and fitting genuine ones as slight play now in them (if a std car you would probably reshim them)
