im after a wide ratio gearset and economy dropset. These are identified by having two notches (as fitted to post 85 1275 non mg engines) on the gears instead of one (as fitted to mg enignes). Also need the associated 1275 overdrive dropgears. Any one have a set they are willing to sell?

I've seen the future and tbh its Pie

I don't know about there being different A+ trannie, but there are indeed different drop ratio's - The 'van' was one example - i think the metro 1275 city was another.
Identifyable by the primary gear having one more tooth than the first-motion gear (31 instead of the more common 30 I believe)?

Mitsi Evo 7, 911, Cossie. & all the chavs ...... won no problem

my advice would be dig deep & treat yourself

minispares north do an evolution clubman gearset SC. which is fab.

they are really tall ratios very close to the challange set but ... a touch.... taller!

ALSO they do evolution drops when you buy this set you only alter the primargy gear to alter the ratio this is taken into account by the machining of the gearset.

the a+ twin grove gearset is indeed another varient of the standard box, its not that common unfortunatly. It was used on 1275 economy metros, along with the drop gears IIRC/informed correctly. I plan to use the set in a more road friendly show car (rebuilding my SPI) with a 2.7:1 final drive with overdrive drop gears will give me around 2.5-2.6:1 effective final drive in 4th. That means about 3,000 rpm at 70mph, i could use s/c drop gears, but i dont want to because of the noise - I`ve had enough of driving long distances to shows and suchlike with my head spinning from the noise.

I dont need the engines, i dont need the gearcases only the gears really. If i cant find someone willing to sell them at a reasonable price i`ll just go out and find me a metro, tho with over 10 engines, 4 in project state, in the garage im running out of room.

If anyone can help i`d appriciate it, im asking here as most of the time when building a turbo people use the closer ratio sets or s/c gearsets so i was hoping there might be some going.
