i'm after a decent mig welder around 130A with gas. got one of those cheap gasless types at the minute and its no good for anything other than patching sills really.

cheers for the offer dude but i really need one to keep. ive got a fair bit of work ahead on my new shell. needs the deseaming finishing, new front end plus various other bits and bobs.

got my eye on the 130 turbo setup in machine mart for about £160 + vat, will have to see what santa brings *wink*

just thought it was worth a try for a second hand one before buying brand new.

Have a look on ebay, if you are willing to part with decent money there are some excellent professional machines to be had.......

Sold the turbo and seeing what the C20XE can do!

Near Lincoln

Id invest in a better but second hand machine. Having had a play with both there certainly is a lot of difference *wink*

I have a Clarke 151TE and that is great. 150notes on a tax free day at Machine Mart. I guess a professional one willl be better, but I dont use it enough to justify it. I do use it a fair bit though and have had no bother.

make sure you get one of min 130amps with a cooling fan on it. also if i were you gt a big bottle of gas them shitty little things for 7 quid last about 5 mins.

Bite the bullet and take out a contract of proper Mig mix gas aswell... Co2 just doesn`t cut it in my mind - lousy penetration, loadsa spatter, and birdsh1t welding a plenty.
That said, get reasonable with Co2 and you`ll feel like you`ve been welding blindfolded, on one leg, on a stilleto, on an ice-rink - once you change to the decent gas...
