think the 1100s were A not A+ as the radiators off em are rocky horse S**T (bigger core) as far as i am aware A+ was 1000cc and 1275cc

Radiators not that rare, the 1100cc rads were the same as the old Cooper `S` spec, 16 gills per inch of rad, as opposed to the earlier type, which have the gills more widely spaced. If you put the two next to each other the difference is obvious. The actual core (3 cores) and hence water capacity is the same. The 1100cc/Cooper`S` radiators are available from Min-its and have been for ages, I have bought one in the past for my old 1100cc Clubby estate, they are also a useful upgrade over the standard 998cc radiator.
I believe the reason they did this was due to the power of the 1100cc engine being produced at lower revs due to the long stroke crank, hence those lower revs equating to less air flow from the mech fan.

I am fairly sure they never fitted 1100cc (1098) engines in Metro`s. There are a FEW 1098cc A+ engines about, these were fitted to some of the VERY last Clubman Estates.
