As I am sure you can tell from the title, a rant is coming on.......

This morning I have been out and about doing xmas shopping. This always puts me in a bad mood anyway, as you end up spending a small fortune, and in return get a selection of "gifts" from other people, many of which were bought with all the best intentions, but you don't really want and would not have chosen yourself.....ANYWAY.....

Whilst driving to and from various shopping centres, I saw a number of women drivers, all talking merrily into their mobile phones whilst driving along, the majority of them had young children in the vehicle with them!

Now aside from the usual male stereotypical view, I have nothing against women drivers on the whole, OK we all know they can't park (spatial awareness, scientifically proven) but apart from that, they are just as good on average as many blokes, there are male friends of mine who I wouldn't trust to drive a stick up a cows arse for instance.

But what makes these silly women think that the driving whilst talking on mobile law does not apply to them? After all, the majority of people that drive professionally for a living are men, and they also now have the proper in car phone tackle to allow them to talk hands free.

The worst bit for me is as you see them swerving around whilst trying to negotiate a roundabout with one hand, with their kids in the car! When I drive with my little brother of 5 years in the car, I am absolutely paranoid about it, drive about like I am driving Miss Daisy......

i think on the whole the standard of driving goes though the floor near christmas as people have other things on there mind

I'm not getting at you, but on my run into work, there are a ton of male drivers on mobiles too. You go into town during work hours, you'll see mums.
It was just an unlucky coincidence (for lack of a better word).

That is interesting, as I have seen this pattern round here for a while, quite literally no blokes on phones, but loads of women.......must be they think they are exempt in Sheffield or something.....

Women, we're exempt from everything aren't we?

i got a 30 quid fine a couple of of weeks ago for being on my phone, the coppers gave me a producer and asked wot i did for a living i think he fort i was taking the piss when i said i fitted hands free kits at halfords doh

I think its illegal to be a woman driver up here in Scotland

even if your to tight (or poor like me) to but a hands free kit then 99% of fones have a speakerphone and the all come with an earpiece and a mic.

although you shouldnt really use a phone whilst driving

wow a presonal police service. can we all use this as the police around my area dont car.

*start rant*

whilst driving back from holiday at around 3pm some kid from a well known slipping down the ranks school near my house threw a large stone at my car.

it smacked the pass side window and scared the sh!t out of me, in my reaction i swerved to the other side of the road (without really knowing).
so when i looked up and saw a old fiesta cominig head on i sh!t my pants again (second time in seconds) . then swerved back and narrowly avoided the car and other kids.

having noticed no damage was done i carried on home and calmed down. I phoned the police and as i didnt hit anything they wasnt interested. i phoned the school same story. so when i asked them if they tought road safety the headteached came out with "we work with swindon police regually"

do they bollex, i even offered to go in and give a speech on road safety, but they was having non of it.

psml keep a bag of stones in your car, turn around and pelt the lil T**T. my mate had a brick thrown off my red mini when he was driving through a bad area. he turned around, mounted the pavement and ran over the dudes bmx, he then drove straight to the cop shop and informed them of the situation.. i had to go to the nick and pick him up, luckily the lad whose bike it was, was wanted for a burglary (he knew him from school) so no complaints came forward. my car was a mess though, but me mate got it repaired as he was driving....he has never driven me car since thank god !

.. some sod in a T5 did me , £30 and a full vehicle inspection ..lol.. told them i bought of off a PC from the coast .lol.. so they checked the VIN plates straight away .pmsl.

Everyone knows that instructions only have to be read if the thing doesn't work....
