AP Racing Formula Clutch Kit
Has anybody tried these uprated clutches? I'm in the market for an upgrade but i have the Metro variety of Mini! and so it would be easyer for me to stick with a verto. They are rated upto 120 Lb/ft

Wow. How long has the verto been out? And they're just looking to launch a new product???

I believe Vmax already offer an uprated 'turbo' cover - supposedly good for 125lb ft?

stowmaket suffolk

my mates slipped on a 115 bhp turbo motor but must have had about 130 ft lb of torque, it slipped quiet easily as well so i would change to non verto to be save.

always looking for them bigger bunches of bannanas

Mitsi Evo 7, 911, Cossie. & all the chavs ...... won no problem

well i whent down this route as the vertro is more civilized on the foot but.....

the standard one used to slip around 10psi of boost

so i changed to the upgraded one from vmax

well its a touch stronger no doubt!

my engine config is race head phs 2 cam intercooled etc........

the upgraded vertro slips around 12 to 13 psi boost, when on 3000 rpms

its the massive torque which kills it.*frown*

in my book do away with the vertro if your after large power outputs. thats my experience *wink*

you settle for.......... OH! iam going to run the engine at 10psi no more, but you want more *wink*

great clutch but, even the upgraded one is .......

"not up to the job".

Looks like it would be pretty close unfortunatly.
1380, phase two, intercooled, limited to 6psi at the moment and at 3k it goes all over the shop. But once i have a sticky clutch it'll be 10psi no more no less (definatly!!!).

Just being a metro switching to pre-verto means more work and its my daily driver. Has anyone used the metro cable actuator on a uprated diagphragm(!?)

dont know to, but i cant see any problems

the uprated vertro
could hold out at 10 psi with your config

but any more than that it will deffo start to slip

you have the info the choice is yours my friend
