anybody know where to get this from? i want to add a harness bar to my existing cage... its 1.5" dia if that makes any differnce... obviously needs to be the correct stuff....

dont need much, just a few feet.... might be able to get it froma normal steel supplier i suppose, but am slightly unsure as to exactly what to ask for.... (cds tube iirc, but could be wrong, also, what wall thickness?)

cheers guys...

Pete

And on the 7th day........... God created turbochargers!

probably, but its not a new one anyway. dont have any documents for it, so not too bothered. sticking to all of the regs as a minimum saftey standard rather than because i ever plan to race it......

You shouldn't affect the approval of the cage if you are only adding parts.

If the welding is of good quality and the way it is attached is to the book then it's no problem.

my thought was by adding heat to the metal you are changing its tensile strength etc etc

Yes M.F.T. you,re right the welding could affect the tubing, but it,s so thick it won,t be a problem.

Also, even bolt-in cages hve brackets welded onto them and there,s nothing special about the type of welding used.

What about fitting the new Safety Devices BOLT IN belt bar? It's mandatory in Mighty Minis, and I've got one as well. It's FIA colpliant as well.
I've got no pictures unfortunately, but Minispares stock them...
