So - I now have a swanky camera phone - basically as it was the only nokia I could get... (It's so nice having predictive text, AND being able to actually send messages and recieve them from the UK now)...

You shold have got "Nokia PC suite" with the phone. Get this on your PC then buy a USB cable.

have you got bluetooth ?? if so get a blue tooth dongle for 20 quid and send it to your comp :)

yeah, I use a belkin bluetooth dongle thingy, dead easy to use.
