Is it just the oil control spacer that's different (thicker)?
How do the oil rings themselves compare with the old? If they're the same - maybe you can just use the original spacer with the new rings?

my rings have 125 thou depth, on enquiring about new oil rings , i found that spares centres couldnt tell me the depth of the new? just kept saying only one listing they will fit....resulting in wrong ones over and over *frown*

I had the same problem when lookin for new rings in standard size, ended up using the new compression rings and the old oil control rings as they werent to bad, But gonna go the 1293 route on the next rebuild.
