Which is the easiest to fit on a mk2,I've moved the oil cooler to where the battery was so have a space there. But the radiator is the wide one with the metal pipe curved around at the bottom so limits hieght.
Plus the slam panel is the low mk2 one.should I put a mk 1 slam panel and release catch on to get a bit more space or a early shorter rad*oh well*

I tried the r5gtt one but it only fits a mk1 metty

Mitsi Evo 7, 911, Cossie. & all the chavs ...... won no problem

iam going to be in the same position next year bri

stick with the rad you have as you need all he cooling you can get if your gonna wind it up!

i would re pitch the rad if poss then fit the intercooler in front of the rad

it may be that you go searching the scrappies for a suitable one just for your job.

some modificatons are nessasary but iam sure you will over come these some pics would be nice

Glad it's not just me then, seams to be more space under the metty bonnet but in the wrong places.
Wide not very tall grill with a few holes underneath(half of them covered by numberplate)
Think the early metty rads are not as long but thicker,so if the fan went grill side(it nearly touches the dizzy at the mo) should have a bit of space with decent air flow where the oil cooler was.

only picture I found was a computervision one but that was a mk1

I fitted a escort rs turbo intercooler next to the rad on the right (as you look at the front of the car). Positioned longways top to bottom the pipe feeds can be routed quite easily and you get excellent flow over the intercooler without obstructing the rad. You need to cut the bonnet slam panel a little bit but its all quite neat!

And that was with the same style rad as you mention.

Oh just remembered that you do lose the bonnet locking catch, the second backup one you have to pull when you pop the bonnet
