Hiya,

I haven't actually got a mini... i currently drive a Daihatsu Charade GTti.

My lucky girlfriend however woke up to one this morning and i was wondering (i've always dreamt of this).... how difficult would it be to donk my engine into the mini?

I've heard that it has been done before but i just cant seem to get a hold of or find the guy whose done it.

It's a 1.0L twin cam, 12 valve turbo. Now im not sure if it's any bigger or smaller than the 1.3 metro turbo lump so im not quite sure how to go about it. It's no rush though as i probably wont get round to doing this just yet (for a while no doubt).

Now then... if all is succesful with having the lump fitted into the mini, what is the best power output to have? Im hoping to get 180bhp with 22psi out of my engine when im done with it.

I have read about a mini with a MR2 turbo 300bhp+ lump in it but i just cant understand how it can keep itself from losing control spinning it's wheels everywhere.

Hello and welcome, like the sound of the 1.0L turbo conversion. Is that the 3 cylinder lump??

It even fits into the round nose and is very light, much lighter than the A series.

It lends itself to tuning and there are 12 second OZ swifts! I will try to find the link to the OZ online tuning magazine that has full articles on their project cars.

thanks mate... but where exactly..... cudnt find it in the search.

Anyone know who i can contact with regards to being able to convert my engine into being able to drive in a mini?.... as in converting the driveshaft etc
