nup. the important thing is all the teeth are the same size, all the gap's are the same size and there all the same distance apart. so if you used your 7mm cutter and lopped out a but every 10 degree's (on your average crank pully) then lobbed out 1 tooth you would be left with the average 36-1 wheel :)

Mitsi Evo 7, 911, Cossie. & all the chavs ...... won no problem

this pic shows it all

the cut outs, 5mm cutter has been used!

leaving 4.7mm on the high spots left of the pully!

the depth of the cut is 3.7mm

you can see the missing machined tooth parallel to the keyway!
this leaves 35 teeth in situe if the other tooth had been in you would end up with 36 teeth of coures!

The crank pulley shown in the picture posted by Benross above is a Spannerbitch-Racing item.

It was machined by a friend of mine, and was the first "trial". The one in the picture had its OD reduced so as to enable the use of a 5mm cutter, and leave equidistant teeth and notches. Subsequent investigation has shown that this isn't critical, and so leaving the OD alone produces acceptable results and cuts down on machining operation.

A couple of people have enquired about getting their own done, the long part of the operation is setting the machine up, once this is done, machining each pulley is a relatively straightforward job.

Therefore if anyone is interested, PM me, so I can try and coordinate getting a few done at the same time, to save time and thus keep them at a reasonable cost to all.

At the moment it looks as though the cost of getting the machining done would be around £30 if a few are done at the same time. I think that given that this is a neat, bolt on solution, this is well worth it. For any more info PM me.

Currently I have 3 people expressing interest in having a pulley done, so it is looking good for £30 a pop.

Plan at the moment is to get them done before the end of January. Anyone else that is interested let me know.
