Would like to know what the best possible clutch setup is for the A plus engine. Flywheel, backplate, diaphragm etc, enlighten me please wich bits I need. My engine will produce power around the 200 mark.

ultra light flywheel
270s or Billet backplate
Double Grey diaphram
Organic (if it's a road car) or sintered (if you can tolerate it) clutch plate.

I'm assuming it is a genuine 200hp...

Thanx Dave, its the genuine 200 i'm going for. Just be be sure is it the non-verto setup we are talkning about? These billet backplates where can i get one? Can only find EN8 steel backplates, are these the samething?

Whatever backplates you can find (new) will be suitable... Basically - if it's NOT cast, it's ok.


May aswell buy a couple of spare thrust washers at the same time *wink*

I've modified several 598 plates recently (per Vizard book)which have been used in 286 etc. cammed engines. Works great.

I can supply you one of those cheap if you'd like Tells!
