Right then chaps

I have decided to sell one of my road cars, as that implies, I have more than one, and this one spends a lot of time sat around eating up tax and insurance and not going anywhere so it is for sale. The reason it sits around a lot is because I work on a shitty steelworks and got fed up of my good cars getting filthy and covered in crap all the time, so I bought an old diesel to go to work in, hence this car sits at home, and only goes out when I go somewhere clean and tidy, although I don't use it to park anywhere in a car park, as I don't want people to open doors etc into it.

It is a-

Citroen Xsara VTS 2.0i 16v 3 door Coupe-hatch
1999 T reg
Rolling roaded at 170bhp
108k miles
Cherry Red
3 owners from new, the first owner had it as a company car and racked a lot of the miles up, it went back for a service every 4 months for the first two years of its life.
FSH
Well specced car. Power Steering. Powerful ABS brakes. A/C climate control, 6 cd changer stereo as standard with steering wheel controls, electric windows/mirrors, 1/2 alcantera interior.
Apart from a K&N replacement element filter in the standard airbox, this car is standard and has not been messed with.
Fitted with Goodyear Eagle F1 tyres on the standard alloys, plenty of tread left.
MOT'd until March 06, would re-MOT it for 12 months before sale if required. Taxed until Sept 06.

This is a modern reliable car, with plenty of go and all the toys. I will be sad to see it go, but it is a waste of money and a good car to have it sat about. It has just had a new exhaust centre section fitted, the original Citroen one had gone rotten through condensation from its occasional use. Other than that there are no faults, it is ready to go.

I am looking for £1750.

Not being funny Tom, but if you are worried about a car worth less than 2k getting dirty there is something wrong somwhere. I thought when I got my Elise and started comuting in it that I might get another car and save the elise. But I bought the elise to drive and so I drive it.

Call me a tight wad, call me a pauper, but at the time I bought it, the Xsara was the most expensive car I had ever purchased, which still remains true, hence not wanting to fuck it up. 2k may sound like pocket change to you, but at the time I bought it, not long out of university, just setting up my own place with all the associated cost, 2k was a fairly substantial wedge of cash to find at that time. All the other cars I have ever owned, were either free, came in exchange for work, or cost less than £300 to buy initially.

There are a number of cars I quite fancy, a few BMW's, an Audi S2, but the trouble is that in my current situation, I would still require two vehicles, and so the second one would sit idle most of the time, doing the same job of wasting money on tax and insurance.

In addition, it is not really the dirt I don't like, it is the metallic particles that etch into the paint give the paintwork the consistency of sandpaper, and require machine polishing to remove. Having used my Xsara to travel to and from work for a period of 12 months, and having it mopped twice to get the crap off the paintwork, I decided enough was enough, and bought a diesel shed.

Like I say I'm not being funny, I hate taking my mini out in the dirt and that is worth about a grand. Thats a lot of car for the money you are selling there and if its not being used get it sold and let somebody else have some fun.
