Hi All

i saw a post on here a while ago about how hard it is to get standard size piston rings.

i will agree its a 'kin nightmare !!

but i have found a source that carries both types on the shelf and will post for next day delivery!!!

i got my set today .

the chaps name is Chris and his phone number is 01233 500522
if you order anything just let him know where you got the number.

Just for information its a company that supplies most of the trade for engine re conditioners and has loads of stock.

yep same as the ones i removed

they are AE rings

Chris had both types on the shelf

the difference was ring thickness i took one of my pistons up to him and mic'ed them, got the right ones, went back to work and fitted them all.

of course i wont know what they are actually like till i get the vehicle on the road ( hopefully for the summer ) but, rings are rings ??

did you gap the rings in the bore be for you fitted the rings in the pistons

i will be fitting them monday will let you know

placed rings in bore to check end gap.........

13 thou gap.... after a good hone so rings are spot on

i got a set but noticed that the oil ring (bottom one) was slightly different in design. however they fit perfect and are without a doubt better than the ones i took out. i have placed another thread about rings along with another source of supply 58 quid inc vat

i did notice that the oil ring was slightly different but wasnt worried about it.

did you get the rings from where i said and if so how much with the postage?

top two rings ductile top rings
third ring is plain iron ring
