been looking at a few peoples cars and there seem to be loads of bootlids secured with pins, are these purely for the track or is there a way of locking them? |

You can put little paddlocks in the pins but still not very secure

ah ok will stick with the normal lock then methinks, lots of chavs round my way lol |

I think most of the bootlids with pins are just a GRP/Carbon cover, rather than an actual boot.
