I need to rebuild my carb as the fuel was leaking past the needle/seat. Is anyone out there using a grose jet, or does everyone just use the standare SU stuff... Also was there an early and late needle/seat combo? With the later one being larger in orifice diameter .1? and 3/8"nut size I got one a while back that was supposed to fit, but the one in my carb is totally different, smaller orifice .09 and a much larger nut size 1/2".

998cc carbs (Hs4/HIF38) use the smaller jet, 1275cc carbs (HS6/HIF44) use the larger, I believe the 998 are 90thou and the 1275 100thou, which ties up with what you say.
