a LIL fishing village on the coast - Newcastle Upon Tyne

ok i have been advised that "THE" oil pump to get is the avonbar high volume jobby. can i ask what advantages this pump offers over say what i usually use, and average high volume pump...i will ring avonbar and ask eventually, but wanted first hand experience to help me decide ?

anyone able to help ?

The avonbar one is properly made, with the tolerances correctly set, and good material.

Some of the others have poor tolerances as new, or some have apparently had grit in them from new?!

Do a search, there are a number of old threads on this.

I'm currently running the Avonbar pump, basically it is of far better quality than the Minispeed {groan} & Minispares {double groan} pumps i had previously bought.
Infact the Minispares pump was so poorly made, i never even fitted it. Both were badly machined with poor tolerances & scoring inside, unlike the Avonbar pump which was well made with good tolerances & nicely finished.
It's the best made pump i've found to date.

ok thats all i needed lads, thanks. Tom i will do a search as you stated..just me being lazy as usual..... i do recall having sent a few pumps back until i got one which was ok, and the grit / swarf i can confirm...just wanted to make sure avonbar wouldnt send me the same item if you know what i mean.
