Mitsi Evo 7, 911, Cossie. & all the chavs ...... won no problem

ditch the mbe cam and get the avonbar phase 2 cam unless its the same timing figures

also get the avonbar supaflow oil pump

& if your bank account can stand it!

i highly reccomend the avonbar turbo head

as i have seen one and the workmanship is excellent!

unless you can cut your own??.

Oh! dont forget the most important part of all the Intercooler!

o yeh i wont for get that lol. Well ive done some research and found also that mbe have a high standards plus if anything should happen they will fix it all, tho my ultimate buy is their sequential gear box lol cant stretch 3500 odd quid right now lol plus im going to ask about avonbar and see how similar they are. Thanks for the options

we all know the phase 2 works and produces "the goods"

of course you want to know more on this cam rather than go blindley into fitting this and your motor been useless at best!

its not to say there arnt any good good cams out there.

each speed shop likes to claim their cams the best but ...is it...???

i wonder if anyone else has come across M B E Cam & its suitability on the turbo A series ?*wink*

Hi you don't need to get a special oil pump for a turbo car, just thought it would safe you some money*wink*

Dam minispares pump - i dont know why i keep buying from them. The orders are wrong every time and not to mention the crap quality of the products... I suppose you get what you pay for.

I remember an old thread where someone took apart 3 common oil pumps and it was obvious the avonbar turbo pump was far better than the others (one of which was minispares)

lol ive just stripped my 1380 down after about 2500(ish) miles and the only thing i can see wrong with it is the minispares oil pump has shat itself, very deep scoring, and big chips on the lobes! wont be using their pump again!. but ive always found their other products to be good :S
steve.

doh! why did i start messing with it!

Why is scoring the pump's fault? Any pump would score as long as you feed it with debris!

Come on guys!

yeah i know vegard, its not soley the pumps fault, but the engine was fresh rebuilt with new everything, and ran in properly so i cant see why it should be so badly dammaged, i have old OE pumps that have come out of 60,000 mile engines that have looked as good! im not complaining about minispares because in general i think the quality of their products is great, in fact im off to minispares north this afternoon to get some bits for my racer project, but id have hoped for few more miles out of it none the less!

Near Daventry, midlands

has anyone took a minispares/avonbar/monkeysport pump appart and checked the endfloat? I'd be facinated to hear from anyone who has? I've just set the endfloat of my minispares pump to 1-2thou which should give me a wedge of oil pressure at any speed whatever the temperature.

Just to note, the endfloat of my new minispares oil pump was about 13thou with a 4thou clearance on the rotor tip.

I've seen the future and tbh its Pie
