payen 1275 head gasket.

Local motorspares places may also stock this, just make sure it is stamped BK450 or AF470. Basically the same gasket with a different sealing ring for the rocker oil supply hole.

The payen ones are supposed to be the best, a guy local to me Rex Patterson uses them on "the green machine" mighty mini racer and they never fail, that car wins almost every race too *happy*

Even better then the payen one is the Genuine Rover metro turbo head gasket. The payen one copyed this. We do them at Avonbar For about £15. You could always got for a multi layer steel head gasket for about £80 i think.

I always find that the BK450 and genuine rover gaskets leak water 'til the engine has gone through a heat cycle.

Anyone else have this problem?

Could be my 998 block and 940 head combo.

No, We've never had this problem wil. Put it this way....We keep both the bk450 and the genuine gasket in stock and when building an engine always go for the rover one.

I had this problem Wil when I first started my engine up, using a group A gasket.

To be honest I was mightily fed up as it was pissing out, but as soon as it got some heat into it, it stopped leaking and has been fine since.

Yes, seems fine now, I was just fed up when I first fired the engine up as I had visions of having to take it all apart again, especially with forking out £80 for another Gr A gasket.....
