as i undertsnad it, (i have a kit on order, but have not actually used it yet...) from the ford, you need the coil pack, edis module both wiring plugs that go with these, the trigger wheel and the crank sensor. have a look in nic's excelent mjlj thread, as im sure he went over it in a lot more detail than that!

hth,
Pete

You won't find an Edis on a mondeo unless it happens to be an automatic.

They look like this:

Fiestas are a good source Hoggy, loads of them in scrappys as well.

Just make sure you get the bits off an injection one, the carb ones have a slightly different EDIS module that is not suitable. You can tell the difference as the carb one (that you DON'T want) has a vacuum take off on the module.

the coil packs are easy to get at on the onions aswell, got my EDIS and coil pack off an onion, and the VR sensor off a fiesta.

I don't want to get into an argument, but the mondeo used the ECU for the ignition control apart from the automatics. For some reason the auto uses the ecu to deal with the gears and the EDIS is used to free up some spade in the ECU. Well that is what I understand.

If you are looking for an edis I would ignore the mondeo and concentrate on Fiesta, Escort, Orion.

I have never paid more than a tenner for one, but nomally grab a load and they come out at a fiver. If you see some get them I say, they always seem to sell well.
