Any idea why the haynes book recomends these for a 87-89,I put a set of RN9YCC's in as doing a search on here most use 8's and 9's.


turbo dave will like this bit !!

These were to replace a set of ngk 6's that only went 30 miles before dying

It might be that that Champion use a different 'scale' of heat range than (cough spit) NGK ?
You'd never want to use a '9' in any road-going (cold starting) daily driver motor - least of all a production unit...

If it's standard try the NGK B7ECS. A bit more boost would probably be the B8ECS.

yes but why champion 12's on a 86-88 and 9's on a pre 86 is it because it's unleaded

I've actually still got several NGK plugs lying around...










I use them for putting into heads when measuring the chamber volume! They seem to be very reliable in this particular application. Never had one fail yet ! LOL!

RN12YC is for mini 1.0

metro turbo bosch WR7DC 0.6mm
champoin RN9YCC 0.8mm
NGK BPR6ES 0.9mm
beru 14R-6DU 0.8mm

ngk plugs higher number colder
