Idler gear bearing size is the obvious giveaway.

Other than that, the teeth profile is slightly different, and if it has the original CWP in it, these will have old 12G type part no's rather than the CAM as in the A+ stuff.

doesn't the A series diff housing have studs, and the A+ have bolts??
Could be wrong.

Jim is partially right. Some A+ boxes have got studs as well.

Also, an A+ casing could very well be fitted with an A gearset. Only giveaway is the idler as Tom says.

but if a box has bolts in the diff housing it will always be an a+
