the spare one you've got went to the boost solenoid i think on the metro. It's blocked off on mine now anyway. On 20th Oct, 2015 Tom Fenton said:

so the connection on the top of the regulator should just be 1 pipe going to the plenum?

yup, my bleed valve is inline with the pipe from the comp housing to the actuator. On 20th Oct, 2015 Tom Fenton said:

So if i block of that spare pipe, and put the bleed valve inline, on the pipe that goes from the turbo to the actuator, that should be ok? |

there are many diffrent ways to plumb the actuator up but they all lead to the same goal. Edited by BENROSS on 2nd Feb, 2006.

ok i've tried blocking of the loose pipe of the actuator and having a single pipe going from the plenum to the regulator.

If you tee it into the servo pipe you will not get a reading, due to the check valve in the take off from the inlet manifold, which stops the turbo from pressurising the servo. on the top of the inlet manifold you have the servo takeoff, on top of this is a small nipple this is wherei have my dump valve connected? would this be the reason for the dump valve sounding sluggish? or is this the correct place to put the dump valve connection? |

you want the dump valve trigger onto the inlet manifold, rather than through the servo take-off as it has a one way valve in it. I've got a couple of extra nipples put on my inlet for the boost gauge and the dump valve. Edited by Nick on 2nd Feb, 2006. On 20th Oct, 2015 Tom Fenton said:

To clarify- Above the servo take off (which doesn't have a valve on the inlet, it is further up the pipe) there is a connection which was used on the metro as part of the breather system. This has a one way check valve in it which is used to stop the turbo pressurising the breathers. This is why connecting your boost gauge here does not work. Connect it to the pipe off the side of the plenum. Also connecting your dump valve here is not ideal either. Follow bud's advice and add a couple of nipples to your inlet for the best solution.

Would that be the reason why the dump valve dosn't sound as loud as it should?

The only reason I can see for having the check valve would be to prevent any chance of the engine drawing un-filtered air through the bleed valve if running at high vacuum off-boost?

T-piece from the manifold. one to the boost gauge and one to the dump valve. This is a permanent solution on my car.

But i haven't got any nipples/connections coming out of the manifold except from the servo takeoff part?? |
