well realey thanks for this has to go to the blue and gold excoset missile mini big willie lol.

he done a test on were the oil level comes to the lay shaft.

when oil is at max it comes to half way up the layshaft so realy you want your oil level to be at max all the whilst not spending most of its time at min as this can also contripute to premeture ejactulation sorry shaft failure which both could runine your sexlifeor worse your sc gearbox. lol

always looking for them bigger bunches of bannanas

That far?

That trans must REALLY generate some drag.
Conventional layshaft trannies usually keep it just below the layshaft centreline - generally it's to keep churning losses to a minium...

I REALLY didn't think the mini oil level was that high... Thanks for doing something I've been meaning to for AGES!!!!

Is this oil level with the engine running e.g. oil distributed round the galleries etc, or with the engine stopped and oil allowed to drain back to sump?

Just interested so I can assess suitable places to put an oil temp sensor.

"missile mini big willie lol. "

That's not what she said last night *blush* LOL

Cheers hoggy, well done for tell peeps:) i forgot! hope it might help some how.

Tom the oil level was measured with the oil on the max level when cold (ie left over night) as you would measure it as normal.

So that's why i always fill my oil about 4-5 mm ABOVE the max level, to allow for the oil that being suched up in use.....................

It prob does nothing apart from loosing me lots of power, but i feel as if i'm doing something to help even if i'm not.

I cant see that keeping the oil level this high would help, when the engine is running it will be everytwhere anyway. Thus will not be above the layshaft centerline then. It could maybe help a little if you are running a splash tray, but then people often tend to run less oil at the same time...
