hey up just thought id pop a couple of pics up of my clubby while im rebuilding it.

its curently at the waiting for me to get my arse in gear stage, the engine is going back togeather tomorrow now the oil pumps arrived from avonbar. just added the final touches to the box too, a minispares x pin diff and central oil pickup.
ive been reading the posts about the layshafts and thought i better check mine too while its out, its the origional one with at least 70k on it, and looks as good as the day it was put in! box is full minispares evolution s/c with 1-1 drops as well and seems to be holding up well.
benross is curently modding an old head for me so that will hopefully get the CR down to a more suitable level, and it's going to megajolt thanks to a kit that alex is building up for me.
once thats all back togeather it can go in and the intercooler will have to be sorted. then its off to a RR and hopefully well sorted for minis v beetles.
aim was as near as 180bhp as possible but i bought iain's green racer and it put an end to the top spec engine. hopefully somewhere near 150bhp will still be achivable tho.

now sporting the mb's from the racer *happy*

needs a little paintwork in the inner wheel arches and the brace bars etc

iains old car, safely tucked away in the back of my shed while i get round to doing something with it. realy looking forward to having a play with it actualy. still trying to decide on a colour for it
cheers
steve.

lol yeah i absolutely love em! they fill the arches better then the old 6 x 10 gb's too. must have a slightly different offset.
steve

p.s lol i was amazed the racer actualy made it back in one piece! bens driving habits dont seem to change much with or without a trailer! well pleased with it tho, cheers iain.

hey up, just a couple more pics of progress.
finaly starting to come togeather now. id post some more pics up but i had a problem on the computer and lost everything up to about a week ago :(
anyway, got the new subframe and suspension assy fitted, the engine is lowered back in just to help with sorting out what pipes i need for the intercooler etc and keeping some weight on the new front donuts, but will be back in permanantly this weekend hopefully if everything goes to plan. the intercoolers almost sorted, baring a hicup with hoses, (i forgot one!). so just the basic putting the last bits togeather jobs now realy.

got to paint the bonnet properly, sort the grill out because thats just a mockup using a nackered one, setup the suspension and prey to god it settles a bit, becasue thats as low as the hilo's go! then arches repainted and fitted etc etc etc

thats the basic layout of the pipes, the ones over the clutch housing are wrong, i missed another 45 when ordering them which would bring the whole lot round the back of the rocker cover rather than over it. basic but as long as it does the job i suppose!

lol thanks for a nice replies, yeah flip front is A pannels too, ive had one the other way and i got pissed off with how the arches looked, i cut them first time and left them whole second time but they tended to get broken when the front end was off, the only problem with this one is you can tend to get the A pannels caught behind the brackets if your trying to put it on by yourself. but it looks a lot neater and thats what i was after realy.
got the last 45 hose today so the intercooler pipeings finaly finished and looks a good bit neater over the clutch side. just a million and one more jobs to do and im back *happy*
anyone got small skinny hands up here in the north east? i'll be damned if i can get mine in to do the clutch and brake pins on top of the peddles, what a bastard of a job

lol dont worry stu! one of my mates should be able to help me over the weekend, if not some snipe nose pliers might do the trick. god damn my chubby fingers!
i should hopefully be at minis v beetles but i doubt it'll be ready to take up the strip, i'll probibly be there in my mates sportpack just watching if its nice, ive nackered up on the megajolt wiring and used normal instead of shielded wire :( so gotta piss about trying to find some more pins for the molex connector and some 2 core wire from somewhere tomorrow which has put me back realy, i wanted the electrics done tonight to keep on track :S
look forward to seeing your car in the flesh anyway, looks mint in the pics.

lol thanks stu, managed to get another female connector block and pins from maplins so if all else fails i might see you at minis v beetles and nick a little bit of wire for the crank sensor wires if i may, ive managed to get round the other wires by mounting the edis unit next to the megajolt and just using the stub ends from the edis to the jolt.
anyway catch you laters.

its all steel pannels vegard, the origional clubby front had taken a bit of a knock when i got it so we just lopped the whole lot off and got the panels from minispares north,
the bonnet is one of their new fiberglass ones, i think rich was telling me you had one on order for ages too, well worth the wait i think. fits perfect.
