Going to re-torque the head bolts tomorrow as I've pretty much run the Frog in now. What setting should I put my torque wrench on?

Standard head + standard head studs + nuts.

Cheers!

I always set my torque wrench to 70NM. I assume mu wrench is not ammazingly accurate and I~'d rather be tight than slack.

I could always calibrate it in work, but that ionvolves effort and forethought.

If you over tighten the head bolts won't that squash and distort the gasket?

Whats going to break next!?

I think you would probably strip or break the studs before you damaged the head gasket.

Near Daventry, midlands

if you overtorque the head you'll 'distort the fire-rings' which can lead to them burning out (particularly between bores) due to the fact that the are more exposed. I dont know how true that is, but i did notice that one of my gaskets had a funny profile on the fire ring and did burn out between 2 and 3.

I've seen the future and tbh its Pie
