Hi folks.

Am in the process of ordering the bits I need for my conversion. Can someone please tell me about the dump valves available?

I like a nice loud dumo (don't we all?) but have heard conflicting stories about what can and can't be fitted to the Metro Turbo lump.

So - what DV fits and is nice and loud?

Sold the turbo and seeing what the C20XE can do!

Near Lincoln

Any normal dump valve will fit. The conflict is between the 2 different types:

One's a piston type dump valve. Sounds nice, seals well. I had a le-mans grp A version on mine and loved it. Only downside is that the fuel in the air tends to knacker the rubber o-rings apparently which means they have to be replaced. Not a big deal i dont think.

Other sort is a diapraghm type, these are supposed to be the best for mini's as there are no o-rings/piston to stick. thing is the diapraghm often split on them so its worth getting a kevlar one. My mate had both sorts on his fezzy turbo and the diapraghm one was louder so he said.

Personal preference in a way, diapraghm's are supposed to be ideal for mini's but piston ones work just aswell.

Not much help really was it *oh well*

I've had a diaphram type fitted for about 6 years, the original rubber diaphram did'nt last a year but i replaced it with a Kevlar one and it has shown no signs of weekness and it does get some abuse.
