My diff decided to let go last night, it was standard apart from a hardened pin, so i'm going to replace it with a 4 pin.

I've been looking at minispares and minispeed, are these any good?? if not what diffs are you guys running. any info would be greatly appriciated

was going round a big roundabout near my house not fast, nice and casual when the steering became a right handful. It didn't want to turn just wanted to go straight on, when i turned the other way to exit the roundabout there was a big bang and lost all drive, oh well*frown*

Mitsi Evo 7, 911, Cossie. & all the chavs ...... won no problem

the minispares is the diff to get as the gears are set at 80 90 deg to each other

much stronger*wink* than say the other diffs on the market, these are set at 90x90 to each other.

they have sold thousands and only ever had one bust!

dont know what the cause was though.

dont forget the seals and bearings.

if you can't get one from minispares then MOSS do the same ones, as they buy from minispares *wink*

not sure on the price to be honest dude. i bought mine and got one for kean at the same time when there was a big drought on the minispares diff around this time last year.

got in touch with a chap who worked at MOSS at the time and picked up 2 of their own tranX copies for a lot less than £155 each *wink*

this really relly worries me, becouse this build atm was suposed to get me goign while i build another engine and box, it would kill me if it let go before i got the 'real build' finished:(

The hardened "cross pin" diff is still a peg-leg diff though right? I would think that if you had a Turbo mini producing anything over 100hp or so you'd want an LSD.

silly question and dont mean to hi-jack the thread but does a gear box/diff need 2 of the x pin diffs or just the one?

i.e. would £165 be all i paid or would it be £300+ if i need 2.

Cheers

Dan
