i think on the saftey front, if your crash a mini hard enough to worry about it then it isent going to make much differnece if it was fibreglass or steel? with or without a roll cage. they are reanforced in the high stressed places and so on.

RSR aren't trading anymoe - they pissed a lot of peeps off, had shoddy workmanship, and when it came too much, folded the company - and started again...

Crashed my second mini into the barrier on the A19 at 70mph. It spun twice, ripped both wings off, and ended up bout a foot shorter on the passenger side. came away with a bruise on me elbow.

Yep wrote off my first mini (oh and the TT) I was doing about 55 in a 60 when a transit van pulled into a junction infront of me. I barley had time to brake. It was more or less a headon, but most of the impact was on the passenger side (no passenger in the car). My injuries were minor, the worst being my knuckles where they got thrown into the dash.

Yep the passenger side is about a foot shorter than the drivers side, look at the way the passenger door is bent. Incidentaly the van I hit only smashed its indicator! http://www.twin-turbo.co.uk

I can't imagine what would happen to the centre section of a fibreglass shell not designed as such to start with. |
