I got a non turbo escort van with half a ton of stereo in it,How much work would be involved in putting a turbo on, of the t/d model.

My haynes book says the c/r is 22.5:1 on both engines,Not sure if the pump and injectors are the same. But the turbo and the charge cooler of the turbo version ""look""like they should just bolt on.

I read another post about on a deisel the boost can be as high as you like as they don't detonate, but an extra 20 gee gee's would do me as I only have 60 at the mo.std turbo is +10bhp on my model

You will probably find a similar situation to our mini turbo engines, e.g. the turbo version will have stronger pistons, possibly undercrown oil sprays, and potentially different valves etc.

I looked into this for my diesel 306. In the end it was far easier to source a complete turbo diesel engine and box and install it in the car.

i know on the isuzus (1.5/1.7) the fuel pump is different the CR s slightly lower on the turbo( 22:1 turbo and 23:1 NA) but as said they dont detonate so its not a porblem. the fuel pump will defonatly be different in your case too for i think obvius reasons:)

cant help much more than that atm but i want to lol
