newton aycliffe (near durham)

Hey all,

just wondering would this be a metro turbo engine of the kind we can don in the mini? or is this a k series?
its a rover metro gti (1991or4 not sure!)

its just i cant go and see it, but seen it in a local paper up here!

I totally agree with you there Peter. Those 4 point ingected GTi and GTa metros pumped out 100bhp out of the box. There are some seriously quick ones knocking obout on the hillclimb scene in Mod prod and roadgoing Mod prod.

Yep I agree to, my dad is in the motor trade and had one pass through his hands not long after they first came out, I remember at the time he was amazed by how quick it was for a Metro!

The one i had for a while was plain brilliant! Way more responsive and powerful than the SPi models the ex had for a while.
I do think the handling is over-rated though; either that or the 'no name' tyres just weren't up to much!

ive got a 214 with the same engine, fair enough its a bit tired now, after 120k....

people slate the k, but i honesly think mines brill.

i thought they handkle pretty bloody well for a shopping trolley... wel my 1.1 did, even with my bargin tyres on it!! (£7 for four brand new tryes from the scrappy..... just took the spares out of a few cars, two different matching pairs in the end! lol!)

And on the 7th day........... God created turbochargers!
