the plate thats on the bottom of the brake and master cylinders...



does anyone know if they come with the rubber gasket under them or if they are separate. Mine was all brittle and toasted so need a new one.

just re-read that. you mean you need a metal plate? there is a normal gasket under it as far as i can remember.

i've got the plate, just needs a bit of a clean and paint, but the rubber gasket under it was stuffed. I presume its there to prevent water being trapped?

gasket is sold seperately.

You can cut one out of an old inner-tube or something pretty easilly - Or just use some mastic, or something simiar.

Strangely, I was doing exactly the same job as this when you started the thread, Mike.

I've managed to get hold of some neoprene (rubber mat). It's spot on for the job.

I've got plenty and can cut you off a piece and post it if you want. Neater than mastic and cheaper (FREE).

Wil, thanks for the offer - i popped down to the local tyre place and they gave me some from what i think was a motorbike tube, got some funny looks lol but was free :)
