hello, just registered - Alex told me about the sight.

Ive got a couple of Minis, and loads and loads of engines spares lying about. Ive learnt a hell of a lot about turbo charging, and my new RS Turbo engine is nearly completed, running around 330bhp at 28-30psi of boost.

Will eventually get round to building up an a series :) I think the limiting factor will be the head - not sure what these can flow, so it'll prob be 8 port.

Cheers, Rick.

Hey Rick... welcome along!

The heads can flow plenty... don't let 5 ports put u off!

You can easy get 150 bhp which as well as making a mini really good fun is plenty to test the transmission!

agree with Alex , the 5 port can flow enough and is ok for big hps, the weaks are the gearbox ,primary gears, and the fact that we can't inject it correctly( the only reason I would make an 8 port is for injection as I would loose the broooooappp).
the engine itself is near bulletproof when correctly built and maintened .
I also had modified 5 gt turbo and 205 gti16 before the mini, but I will not go back to recent cars , I'm now mini forever
